Every Easter Sunday, families gather on the Castle Hill to socialise and roll eggs. On Easter Sunday 2017, Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society had a presence on the Hill to advertise the forthcoming Ardrossan Castle Carnival on 17 June 2017, display a replica sarcophogus lid in the church ruins and open the Castle gate to allow access to visitors. The seagulls were very helpful in clearing eggs and their shells from the Hill.
