For the second night in succession, Ardrossan Castle was illuminated. On 22 September 2017, it was lit as part of the prize for finishing in second place out of twenty-eight nominations in the Scotland-wide Dig It! Hidden Gems competition. The following evening, it was lit by a different company for the Ardrossan Music Experience.
