The County Constabulary Station opened in 1889 and closed in the 1970s. Click

It was later used by Alzheimer Scotland before its transfer to the Harbour
Centre and Women's Aid.

The Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald of 16 February
2011 reported that North Ayrshire Council, who bought the building and land
from Clydeport in 2009 for £225000, had agreed to sell it for the same
sum to Irvine
Bay Regeneration Company for development and lease
to Ayrshire and Arran National Health Service as a health centre to replace
South Beach Medical Practice.
Work on clearing the building started on 28 February 2011. On 2 September
2013, construction work on South
Beach Medical Centre started. On 26 May 2014, South
Beach Medical Practice relocated to the Centre and opened to patients on
27 May 2014.
