Dawnlight Circle is part of the Harbour View estate. Persimmon Homes started construction work on its sixty houses in October 2005.

The other streets in Harbour View are Glenlight Way, Moonlight Place, Raylight Place and Stormlight Road. Dawnlight, Moonlight, Raylight and Stormlight were small cargo boats of the Glenlight Shipping Company that delivered supplies to remote west coast towns and islands from Ardrossan.
