DOCK GATES

Dock Gates no longer exists. It was a row of terraced houses in the middle of Ardrossan Dockyard very near the Arran Ferry terminal. It was surrounded by boat piers, railway tracks, cranes and a drydock. The environment must have been very noisy. It was inhabited from at least 1881 to the early 1950s.
