Glenfoot House Hotel,
North Shore Road 4 14
June 2003
Glenfoot House was built in 1859, perhaps as a domestic dwelling. It later became
a hotel. In 1942, during the second world war, it was taken over by the Admiralty
then re-opened to the public as a fully licenced hotel in 1948. Imperial Chemical
Industries, who had a factory in Stevenston, bought it as a guest house for
their visitors. If
