GRAHAM'S CASTLE

Graham's Castle was the old part of the Civic Centre. It was built before 1841, became Castlecraigs Recreation Club in 1921, the Town Hall around 1950 and was subsumed into the Civic Centre in the 1970s. The notice below appeared in the Glasgow Herald of 17 September 1858.

In August 1862, the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald reported that 'The fine property in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan known as Graham's Castle has been purchased by Major Fullarton at present residing at Burnfoot.'.
