Harbour Centre, Parkhouse Road
2 23
February 2010
The
Harbour Centre,
previously located in the County Constabulary
Station,
is run by Alzheimer Scotland which helps people with dementia, their carers
and families. It offers day care, carer education, a carer support group and
an information and advice service. Day care gives people the chance to socialise
and enjoy activities and outings and gives carers a break. Carer education helps
carers learn more about the illness and how to cope. More information can be
seen at www.AlzScot.org.
The
Harbour Centre was given a cheque for £300 on 3 March 2010 December from
sales of the Ardrossan
in 2007 DVD. The DVD takes the viewer on a two and a quarter hour journey
through Ardrossan to see the town as it was in the year 2007. All proceeds from
this enterprise are given to a community project or charity in Ardrossan. Full
details of the DVD and how it can be purchased online are available by clicking
here.
