Millglen Filter Station Site, Dalry Road 3                                                                                                  10 October 2004

Millglen Filter Station occupied this site from the 1940s to the 1980s.

Construction of an extension to the Filter Station started in April 1958. It was formally opened on 3 October 1959 by Provost James Dorrian. The extension included a new filter house, a filter attendant's house and a high level water storage tank with a capacity of 85000 gallons. The filter house had five filter shells with room for a further three and could filter 60000 gallons of water a day.
It cost about £70000.
