Parkhouse Bridge 14                                                                   10 September 2005

Between its junctions with Glasgow Street and McDowall Avenue, Parkhouse Road was closed so that Parkhouse Bridge could be strengthened. The concrete bridge deck and brick parapets were replaced with a concrete deck and parapets. The contractor was George Leslie who was appointed by North Ayrshire Council Roads Services on behalf of the Scottish Executive. Work started on 13 July 2005 with an expected finish on 24 December 2005. In November 2005, the completion date was revised to March 2006. In February 2006, it was changed to May 2006. In March 2006, it was rescheduled for July then August 2006. In May 2006, the finish date was announced as 1 September 2006.
