POST OFFICE

The first Post Office in Ardrossan was at 51 Princes Street. It opened in the early twentieth century and closed around 1930. From then till the 1980s, the Post Office was at 84 Glasgow Street. In May 1971, it ceased dealing with postal deliveries when that task was transferred to Saltcoats Post Office. Counter staff remained in what became a Sub Post Office till the late 1970s when the business transferred to 49 Glasgow Street. The premises at 84 Glasgow Street was acquired by Cunninghame Housing Association in the late 1980s. If you know more accurate dates, please contact
