POST OFFICE
The first Post Office in Ardrossan was at 51 Princes
Street. It opened in the early twentieth century and closed around 1930.
From then till the 1980s, the Post Office
was at 84 Glasgow Street. In May 1971,
it ceased dealing with postal deliveries when that task was transferred to Saltcoats
Post Office. Counter staff remained in what became a Sub Post Office till the
late 1970s when the business transferred to 49 Glasgow Street. The premises
at 84 Glasgow Street was acquired by Cunninghame
Housing Association in the late 1980s. If you know more accurate dates,
