This is the site of the Eglinton Arms Hotel which was built in 1806 and 1807, badly damaged by fire on 31 January 2000 and demolished on 2 and 3 February 2000. The steps at the left were at the entrance. Between 2007 and 2009, Dockers Gardens was built on the site of the hotel.
