Sweeney Street 13                                                                                                                                     25 June 2017

Cunninghame Housing Association acquired this site from Clydeport in April 2007. Between 18 January and 8 February 2010, its buildings were demolished by Reigart Contracts. On 18 August 2016, there was an 'opening ceremony' in advance of the construction of fifty-five general needs flats, thirteen amenity flats and two wheelchair flats by Ashleigh (Scotland) Limited. The ceremony featured Kevin Stewart, Member of the Scottish Parliament and Minister for Local Government and Housing; Joan Sturgeon, Provost of North Ayrshire Council; Anthony Gurney, Member of North Ayrshire Council Cabinet for Environment and Infrastructure; and Cunninghame Housing Association Chief Executive Frank Sweeney, after whom Sweeney Street is named.
