Castle Hill is known locally as the Cannon Hill.

Cook's Builders' Supplies is no longer shown in the middle left.  It was prepared for demolition on 7 April 2005.  It was the offices of Ardrossan Town Station from the late nineteenth century till its temporary closure on 1 January 1968.
